Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Structural Integration therapy session last? + -

Sessions last from 1 to 1½ hours. Please allow 2 hours for your initial visit.

How is a session conducted? + -

Men should wear briefs or boxer briefs, women regular underwear and bra or a two-piece swimsuit.

How often should I get Structural Integration therapy? + -

Sessions are usually spaced about a week apart for 10 sessions. Sessions can be as close as once or twice a week and not less than once every three weeks so that the cumulative effect of the sessions is not lost. This allows the time for your body to become accustomed to the changes. The frequency of sessions can largely depend on individual schedules and budgets.

What does a session feel like? + -

Early on, Structural Integration therapy developed a reputation as an extremely uncomfortable process. Over time, the community has refined the process to be even more effective, by working at levels that are more comfortable for the client. Most new clients who are worried about the work being painful no longer find it to be an issue after experiencing a session.

How do I know SI is right for me? + -

One way to know if SI is right for you is to get a free consultation. If it is clear that Structure work is not called for I might refer you to another type of health care professional.
